View transcription service →Welsh (Cymraeg) is the indigenous language of Wales and one of the United Kingdom's recognised languages alongside English. About 880,000 people speak some Welsh, with roughly 560,000 reporting they can speak it fluently. The language has been actively revitalised through Welsh-medium education, S4C broadcasting, and bilingual signage. The US Welsh-American community is concentrated in Pennsylvania (which has historic Welsh coal-mining roots), Ohio, and Utah. Our Welsh translation work is mostly genealogical (Welsh parish and civil records for descendants tracing Welsh heritage), plus the occasional cultural and academic document.
