View transcription service →Oriya — officially renamed Odia in 2011 — is the official language of the Indian state of Odisha (formerly Orissa), with around 38 million native speakers. It's a classical Indian language with literature dating back over a thousand years, written in its own distinctive curved script descended from Brahmi. The US Odia-speaking community is small but well-established in the tech and academic sectors, with concentrations in the Bay Area, Texas, and the Northeast. Our Odia translation work is a small but steady mix of USCIS civil documents (Odisha birth and marriage certificates) and academic transcripts being evaluated for US credentialing.
