About the Moshi Dagomba Language

Moshi-Dagomba refers to the Mossi-Gurma group of Gur languages spoken across northern Ghana, Burkina Faso (where Mossi / Mooré is the largest language), and Togo. Around 8 million people speak Mooré, the largest member of the group. The US Mossi-Dagomba-speaking community is part of the broader West African immigrant population. Our Moshi-Dagomba translation work is rare; documents from these regions are typically in French (Burkina Faso, Togo) or English (Ghana) and routed accordingly.

  • Primary regions: Ghana
  • Language origin / family: Northern Ghana
  • Estimated speakers: 1 million
