About the Galole Language

Galole is a small Bantu language spoken in coastal Kenya, particularly in the Tana River region, with perhaps 5,000 speakers. It's closely related to Swahili and other coastal Bantu languages. Our Galole translation work is essentially non-existent in normal operations; documents from this region are almost always in Swahili (Kenya's national language) or English (the official language) and routed accordingly.

  • Primary regions: Indonesia
  • Language origin / family: Halmahera, Indonesia
  • Estimated speakers: 0.03 million
