About the Cebuano Language

Cebuano is a Philippine language spoken by around 25 million people in the central and southern Philippines — Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Leyte, and large parts of Mindanao. After Tagalog it's the most-spoken native language in the Philippines, though Tagalog/Filipino dominates as the national language. The Cebuano-American community is part of the broader Filipino-American population in California, Hawaii, and the East Coast. Our Cebuano translation work is mostly USCIS civil documents from Cebu-region Filipino sources, alongside academic transcripts and family-reunification paperwork.

  • Primary regions: Philippines
  • Language origin / family: Central Philippines
  • Estimated speakers: 21 million
